BHUBANESWAR: A photo moving in social media now hits headlines. Vigilance Scanner Additional Sub Collector Prasant Rout’s photo poses with 5T Secretary VK Pandian is now mega hit in social media. With Vigilance traced around Rs 3 Crore cash from Additional Sub Collector Rout , this photo is now a talking point.
Final tally of cash seizures from Bhubaneswar and Nabarangpur after machine counting comes to Rs 2,91,93,800. Prasanta Kumar Rout , Additional Sub Collector, Nawarangpur seems to have made regular cash deposits in a number of benami bank accounts. Details of one such account opened in the name of an acquaintance in IndusInd Bank, BBSR has been collected where in Rs 26.27 lakh cash deposits are suspected to have been made by Sri Rout from 2019 onwards. The bank documents, passbook, ATM card etc have been recovered from the house of Sri Rout in Bhubaneswar. Verification is going on in this regard.
Cash of Rs 2,91,93,800/ recovered from Bhubaneswar and Nawarangpur residence of Rout .Earlier, simultaneous house searches are being conducted by Odisha Vigilance on the strength of search warrant issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh, at 9 locations.
Places of search:
(1) The double storied residential house of of S.O. located at HIG-115, Kanan Vihar, Bhubaneswar.
(2) The residential house of S.O. located at Nawarangpur, Dist- Nawarangpur.
(3) The office chamber of S. O. located at Nawarangpur, Dist-Nawarangpur.
(4) The parental house of S.O. located at Village-Bahudarada, PS-Bhadrak, Dist-Bhadrak.
This apart, searches are being conducted at 5 other locations of acquaintances of Sri Rout.9 teams of Odisha Vigilance consisting of 02 Addl. SP, 07 DSsP, 08 Inspectors and other staff are engaged in searches. Further report follows.
