BHUBANESWAR: Vigilance Raids have spread a panic among Government officers in Balangir district, happens to be home turf of Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo.
A day after haunting Sujeet Kumar Padhy, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), Patnagarh RW Sub-division in this district, the anti-corruption wing on Thursday morning conducting simultaneous raids at 9 places in connection with the corruption empire of Sunil Kumar Rout, Chief Construction Engineer, Lower Suktel in the same district
On Thursday morning , on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets by Sri Sunil Kumar Rout, Chief Construction Engineer, Lower Suktel, Bolangir, simultaneous house searches are being conducted by Odisha Vigilance led by 2 Additional SPs, 8 DSPs, 6 Inspectors, 10 ASIs and other supporting staff on the strength of Search Warrants issued by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar at the following 9 places in Bhubaneswar (Khordha), Puri, Angul, Cuttack and Bolangir districts.
- Residential triple storeyed building of Sri Rout at Niladrivihar, Bhubaneswar.
- His double storeyed building at Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar.
- One Flat of Sri Rout at VIP Road,Puri.
- His another Flat at Grand Road, Puri.
- His paternal house at Gurudijhatia, Cuttack.
- House of his son at Kishorenagar, Angul.
- His House of his relative at Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar.
- Residence of Sri Rout at Bolangir.
- Office chamber of Sri Rout at Bolangir.

On Wednesday , Sujeet Kumar Padhy, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), Patnagarh RW Sub-division, Dist- Bolangir was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand) as final instalment of the overall demand of Rs 1 Lakh from a Contractor (Complainant) for facilitating release of his final bill towards a government construction project executed by him .
Sri Padhy, AEE had demanded Rs 1 Lakh bribe and was not clearing the bills despite completion of the project. Finding no other alternative, the complaint had paid Rs 50,000 in two instalments few days back and requested for clearance of bills. However, Sri Padhy demanded the rest amount of bribe of Rs.50,000/-.
