CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR: On Saturday, a Court Remote Point for testimony of witness through Video Conferencing mode was inaugurated by Y K Jethwa, Director Vigilance at Vigilance Directorate, in Cuttack.
The Remote Point will make the trial process faster & easier, & save time, energy & cost of travel.’ Recently, the High Court of Orissa approved the setting up of Remote Points at Vigilance Directorate, Cuttack and other Vigilance offices in Odisha.
ADGP, Vigilance, Asheet Kumar Panigrahi, , IGP, Vigilance, Sanjay Kumar Kaushal Prakash R, DIGP, Vigilance, L. Divya.V, SP, CTC Division, M. Radhakrishna, SP, Vigilance Cell, T. Swain, AIG, Vigilance were among those present.
Such remote points are being set up in Vigilance Offices at all District headquaters. Witnesses will now be able to attend trial in any of the Courts in Odisha through VC from their nearest District Headquarters’ Remote Point without having to travel long distance for in person attendance.
