BHUBANESWAR: Rajat Kumar Routray, Ex- Nazir, Jajpur Tahasil, who was absconding since 2016 following involvement in misappropriation of Govt. Funds to the tune of Rs. 4.95 Crores, has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance and forwarded to Court on Thursday.
He had cut contact with relatives & was frequently changing his location and mobile numbers. A Special Team of Odisha Vigilance found him hiding in a rented house at CDA, Cuttack where he was staying under a new identity as Sri Ajit Mohapatra, along with his second wife.
He has been arrested in 3 cases under the PC Act, which have been regd. against him and other govt officials of the Tahasil, including 3 Tahsildars. He has already been dismissed from service by Odisha Government.
