NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: The team of Vidrohi, a period drama on Disney Plus HS on the unsung hero of Odisha who led India’s first war of independence , have met Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Union Minister Pradhan congratulated the team for bringing the heroic resistance and the life of Buxi Jugabandhu, a legend of Odisha to the masses.
Bakshi Jagabandhu, a freedom fighter, leads a rebellion against the East India Company. While he fights for his countrymen, Princess Radhamani plans on setting him up with her sister, Kalyan.
Vidrohi is an Indian Hindi-language historical drama television series which premiered on 11 October 2021 on Star Plus. It is also digitally available on Hotstar. Produced by Gatha Productions, it stars Sharad Malhotra, Hemal Dev and Sulagna Panigrahi. The series is based on the times of the pre-independence British Era and explores the life-journey of Odia freedom fighter Bakshi Jagabandhu.
