Veteran Damodar Rout’s Expulsion from BJD revoked

BHUBANESWAR:  ‘The Expulsion order of Dr Damodar Rout is hereby revoked with immediate effect, ‘BJD President Naveen Patnaik said in a statement on Monday.

Rout , a veteran leader from Jagatsinghpur had expelled from the BJD for anti-party activities earlier.

Dr Rout has 45 years long MLA career including 22 years as Minister in late former Chief Ministers Nilamani Routray, Biju Patnaik and incumbent Naveen Patnaik’s Cabinet.

Dama had lost the Erasama-Balikuda seat to BJD’s Raghunandan Das in 2019 .  He had joined BJP after BJD expelled him party but later he left and remain alone.

Dr Rout was expelled from BJD in September 2018. He later joined BJP in March 2019 and contested on a BJP ticket from Balikuda-Erasama. He lost the election and later resigned from BJP in October 2019.
