BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK: BJD Kendrapara Lok Sabha MP, Anubhav Mohanty has alleged that his estranged wife Varsha Priyadarshini was not cooperating with Court hearing but she has been active in social media posts, which was unfortunate and uncalled for.
The actor turned BJD Lok Sabha MP Mohanty’s hard hitting statement came after the actress Varsha Priyadarshini failed to turn up to Cuttack SDJM Court’s Mediation Centre again.
“She has time for social media post but unfortunate she has been knowingly ignoring Court hearings,” the Kendrapara MP alleged.
“I am not in favour of airing family matters in media or outside but time and again, I have been facing trouble without any fault because my estranged wife Varsha,” MP Mohanty said adding she has been not responding to Court orders.
“I have every respect for her but its family issue and it’s been 6 to 7 months passed and there was no result came from Mediation Centre,”the MP added. “ I urged the Court the decide the matter as early as possible and it will help me in focusing on my Parliamentary seat Kendrapara’s development,” the MP added.
Both MP Mohanty and his wife Varsha were at loggerheads since past few years and their married life turned ugly with both knocking the doors of Courts in Cuttack and Delhi. Varsha had filed a domestic violence case against MP Mohanty at the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court in Cuttack.
A month before the case, the Kendrapara MP had filed a petition in the Patiala House Court seeking divorce from her on July 6, 2020.However, the Supreme Court of India on October 16, 2020, stayed the divorce petition after Varsha moved to the apex court seeking transfer of the case from Delhi to the Family Court in Cuttack.
