BHUBANESWAR: With unopposed elected and strong moral support from State Government, new team of Odisha Cricket Association led by BJD MLA Pranab Prakash Das as President and Industrialist Pankaj Lochan Mohanty as Vice-President, having an able sports organiser like Sanjay Behera as Secretary, the cricket infrastructure and growth is expected to reach at new heights.
Having MLA Das as President, it will help OCA in getting State Government’s support as it has been giving to Hockey and the chances for new International Cricket venue in the State in future looking bright, given the fact, the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik himself promoting sports.
Vice President Mohanty, besides being an Industrialist, Philanthropist, he has been an outstanding sports organiser and performance of his past tenure as President was always praiseworthy. During Mohanty’s tenure as President, Barabati Stadium in Cuttack witnessed several International Matches. Mohanty’s leadership ensured several National level events at Barabati Stadium also. With Mohanty enjoys good relationship with both President Das and Secretary Behera , chances of infighting within OCA looks grim and remote resulting smooth functioning of State’s apex cricket body.
Secretary Sanjay Behera has also proved his ability and leadership in his previous tenure and is expected to carry forward the same in his new innings in OCA. Vikash Pradhan as Treasurer is expected to give his best to OCA.
