NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmenra Pradhan was on Sunday held a video conference with members of Rotary International and extended his thanks for working tirelessly to support and strengthen India’s fight against COVID-19.The Union Minister Pradhan discussed several aspects of the COVID-19 situation in the sub-continent and its impact on human health and economies.
“I elaborated how Hon. PM Shri Narendra Modi has led from the front in fighting the pandemic and in mitigating the impact of the coronavirus challenge.PM Narendra Modi ji’s pre-emptive approach and strong measures have helped India respond better to the #Covid19 challenge.
Despite having a similar population as compared to the total population of the 15 countries most impacted by the novel coronavirus, India has fared better,” twitted Union Minister Pradhan.
He also expressed his happiness that the Rotary family has stood in solidarity in response to the pandemic and are helping those in need. Distributing meals, sanitizers and face masks to the poor, they are also providing emotional support to people feeling the effects of isolation and fear.
“Rotary members across India have contributed ₹105 crores in the #PMCARESFund to support Hon. PM Shri Narendra Modi in the fight against #Covid-19. They are also actively working on the ground to help prevent spread of #Covid19 by supporting preparedness and response activities,” Pradhan added.
