Union Minister welcomes NMC’s approval of 100 MBBS seats for Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Medical College, Talcher and Government Medical College Phulbani

BHUBANESWAR: The Government of India has given permission to start the registration process for 100 MBBS seats from the academic year 2025-26 at Talcher Purvathi Mohan Medical College in Angul district and Phulbani Government Medical College in Kandhamal district.

For this, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has thanked the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda in ‘X’. In addition, Shri Pradhan has thanked the Hon’ble Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling for their continuous efforts for the development of healthcare and medical education in Odisha. In the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s ‘Purrooday’ mission, providing good healthcare to the people along with health promotion in Odisha is our top priority. This groundbreaking initiative; will provide quality healthcare to the citizens in tribal areas like Kandhamal including Angul district.

Shri Pradhan further said that MCL, a public sector enterprise of the Government of India, has spent more than Rs. 1600 crores on the Talcher Purat Mohan Medical College. The people of Talcher, Angul and surrounding districts will be particularly benefited by the operationalization of this hospital. This facility will transform the healthcare sector in the region and provide quality healthcare to all, which is a shining reflection of the commitment of the double-engine government, he said.
