TALCHER: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who is on a visit to Angul, on Wednesday dedicated and laid the foundation stone of various development projects at many places including PM Shri Prithvi Mohan Government Higher Secondary School in Kaniha on the occasion of the auspicious ‘Shri Ganesh Puja’.
During this visit, Shri Pradhan first laid the foundation stone for the establishment of ‘Prajamandal Bhawan’ at Kaniha in Talcher. Later, PM inaugurated various projects worth Rs. 5.8 crore at Shri Prithvi Mohan Government Higher Secondary School and laid the foundation stone. Shri Pradhan sat with the students in the newly constructed dining hall and had lunch. Finally, he inaugurated the Tikira River Bridge built with DMF funds at Kaniha.
On this occasion, Shri Pradhan said that the people of Chalchera were keen on the construction of ‘Prajamandal Bhawan’ in the memory of the former Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha and the leader of the Prajamandal movement, late Prithvi Mohan Pradhan. Its construction will be done soon.
In the coming days, this Bhawan will expose the youth to the glorious history of the Prajamandal movement. Similarly, the new additional classrooms of the educational institution, newly built kitchen and dining hall were inaugurated at PM Shri Prithvi Mohan Government Higher Secondary School, while the foundation stone was laid for the construction of a new 100-bed hostel and science laboratory.
The estimated amount for this project is about Rs. 5 crore 8 lakh. Students will be particularly benefited by the developmental projects inaugurated and laid under the CSR projects of Jindal, MCL and NTPC. Providing quality education along with proper facilities to the students through the National Education Policy is our top priority. Shri Pradhan wished a bright future for all the students of the school along with the further development of the school. On the other hand, Shri Pradhan opined that the inaugurated ‘Tikira River Bridge’ will strengthen the communication infrastructure, trade, business, tourism and economic growth in the local area.
During this visit, the Union Education Minister paid homage to the statue of the late Prajamandal Movement leader Late Mohan Pradhan and the Talcher Prajamandal Martyrs Memorial at Kaniha. During the visit, the Union Minister was accorded a warm welcome at various places in Kaniha.
