NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan has met Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi and requested him to construct an alternative national highway to further strengthen connectivity between Sambalpur and Jharsuguda, two major industrial cities of Odisha.
Sambalpur and Jharsuguda districts are the economic hub of Odisha. The construction of this new national highway will accelerate the pace of industrialization in the region and create new employment opportunities.
This national highway will connect Sambalpur and Jharsuguda and will be a milestone in the industrial and regional development of Odisha. It will not only bring a revolutionary change in the transport sector, but also in the business and trade sector. Shri Pradhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Purrooday’ project has given top priority to the development of Odisha’s infrastructure. If this alternative highway is constructed, it will bring about a major improvement in the social and economic life of the people.
