ANGUL/BHUBANESWAR: Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan today delivered a great message of keeping the environment clean by participating in the ‘Clean, Beautiful and Green Angul’ program organized at Angul Municipality Chack. On this occasion, he laid the foundation stone of 36 important projects worth about Rs. 27.63 crore under Angul Municipal Council.
Highlighting the Union Government’s “Swachh Sarvekshan – Mo Shato, Mo Parika 2025-26” programme, Shri Pradhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ has today become a massive mass movement. Keeping the city clean is not just the job of administrative or social organisations, but it is the moral responsibility of every citizen. If we all take a step forward together, then our city can be clean and beautiful. Just as we keep our homes clean, similarly we have to keep the roads and public places clean.
On this occasion, the foundation stone of 36 important projects worth Rs. 27.63 crore was laid in various sectors including electricity, sanitation, education and women and child welfare. He said that these projects, which will be funded from DMF funds, will strengthen the infrastructure of the locality and bring about a major improvement in the lifestyle of the people.
Shri Pradhan suggested the district administration to prepare a special draft to keep the environment pollution free. He emphasized on extensive tree plantation and proper waste management. He appealed to people from all walks of life, from rural to urban areas, to join the campaign to realize the dream of “clean, beautiful and green Angul”.
It is reported that on this occasion, Shri Pradhan distributed mobile phones to the sanitation workers working in Angul Municipality. After attending the program, Shri Pradhan spent some time with the children studying at the nearby Bajaparada Anganwadi Center and distributed fruits to them. He said, distributing fruits along with nutritious food to the children of Anganwadi and government schools can fulfill their nutritional needs. Children are the future of the country. Let us all make a collective effort to keep them healthy and strong.
