ANGUL/BHUBANESWAR: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said while participating in the ‘State Level Chasha Maha Samabesha’ organized at Bamur in Angul district today that our government is committed to providing the constitutionally guaranteed rights to the Chasha community.

Shri Pradhan said that the conference brought many constructive proposals for the overall development of the society and emphasis was placed on constitutional rights, education, health and employment, which will have a positive impact in the coming days. He said that while the Chasha caste of Odisha was included in the Central OBC list, the Chasha community has written a letter to the Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Birendra Kumar, requesting him to include the 108 communities recognized by the Odisha government in the State SEBC list, including other castes/subcastes/categories, in the Central OBC list. If the people of these castes/subcastes/categories are included in the Central list, they will be equally provided with the benefits of reservation and welfare schemes at the universal level, which will help in their economic and educational growth.

On the other hand, in the Modi government, OBCs are getting 15 percent reservation in medical UG PG seats under the all-India quota. There is 27 percent OBC reservation in petrol pump allocation. Our government is committed to providing the constitutionally guaranteed rights to the people of this category.

Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in order to fulfill the dream of ‘Developed Odisha’ and ‘Developed India’, agriculture should not be limited to traditional methods but should be made the main source of income. As the demand for organic and natural farming is increasing globally, better arrangements will be made to send Odisha’s vegetables and agricultural products to foreign markets. He said that our main goal is to establish every person associated with agriculture in Odisha on a larger platform and maintain harmony between constitutional rights and social responsibilities.
