BHUBANESWAR:India’s future will be strong if linguistic diversity builds a bridge of knowledge, said Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan while attending the closing ceremony of ‘Kashi Tamil Sangam 4.0’ in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.

Shri Pradhan said that this Sangam, which started with the visionary thinking of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has further strengthened national unity by celebrating our intellectual, spiritual and cultural heritage. Starting from the banks of the Ganges in Kashi and ending at the seashore of Rameswaram, the event has given new strength to the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Sreshtha Bharat’ and revived the centuries-old ties between the two regions.

Shri Pradhan mentioned in his speech that inclusiveness and accessibility of knowledge of Indian civilization is the main objective of Kashi Tamil Sangamam and the National Education Policy. He said that when we respect diversity and embrace linguistic diversity as a bridge to knowledge, then India’s future becomes stronger.

Tamil civilization is not just a regional identity, but it is the foundation of India’s civilizational journey. This year’s theme ‘Tamil Karkalam’ not only promotes Tamil education, but also opens the doors to India’s ancient wisdom. He expressed his strong belief that Kashi Tamil Sangam will inspire the youth of India to become proud bearers of our glorious civilization in the days to come.

On this occasion, Minister Shri Pradhan today visited the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial in Tamil Nadu.
