Union Home Minister Amit Shah , who was in Bhubaneswar in Odisha to attend several functions to dedicate various development projects relating to National Highways and Roads , on Saturday highlighted State Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s record term as Chief Minister.

BHUBANESWAR: Union Home Minister Amit Shah , who was in Bhubaneswar in Odisha to attend several functions to dedicate various development projects relating to National Highways and Roads , on Saturday highlighted State Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s record term as Chief Minister.

During his address, Union Home Minister Shah said, Naveen Patnaik has made a record in Odisha. Shah’s praise on Naveen Patnaik bears greater significance in the view of the BJD’s support to NDA in Parliament. With 23 years and 150+ days in office, Patnaik became second longest and next to Pawan Kumar Chamling , former CM of Sikkim , who remained in office for  24 years and 166 days as CM.

Interestingly, Shah praised Naveen Patnaik where Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was present.

Shah also highlighted about Lord Jagannath and said, people of Gujarat have emotional bonding with Odisha. Shah also praised Odisha for its fight against Maoists. He thanked Odisha Government and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for full cooperation to Union Government in matters on internal security matters including left-wing insurgency.

CM Patnaik said: “Odisha always believes in Cooperative Federalism. I thank the Government of India for its support to the State for its development agenda”.

CM in his speech spoke about Gurupriya bridge, Biju Expressway & Greenfield airports being built by the State Government.

Earlier, Odisha Chief Minister Patnaik flanked by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shah  dedicated 4-Laning of Kamakhyanagar-Duburi Section of NH-53 on EPC to the Nation here at a function held in Bhubaneswar. Rs 761 Crore spent for the projects.

Both Patnaik and Shah also laid foundation stone for widening and strengthening of Moter to Banner via Ladugaon Road of Kalahandi district. Rs 34 Crore will be spent for 15 KM

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Odisha Works , Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Mallick, Chief Secretary PK Jena, 5T Secretary VK Pandian and others graced the occasion.
