PURI/BHUBANESWAR: Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman along with Union Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, on Thursday collected maati in the Amrit Kalash at Biraharekrushnapur, the birth place of noted freedom fighter Jayee Rajguru in Puri in Odisha under MeriMaatiMeraDesh campaign.
The Ministers paid rich respect to the legacy of freedom fighter by visiting the birthplace of the illustrious Saheed Jayee Rajguru and embarking on the symbolic Amrit Kalash Yatra at Biraharekrushnapur in Puri.
Earlier in the day, she visited Shree Lord Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s pilgrimage city of Puri and offered prayers.
The Ministers took part in a spiritual visit to the revered 12th century old Shree Mandira, paying homage to centuries of tradition.
Later Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman along with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP National Spokesperson , Dr Sambit Patra and Brahmagiri MLA Lalitendu Bidhyadhar Mohapatra visited the sand art on the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ theme created by Padma Shri Sudarsan Pattnaik and his team. The Sand Art at Puri beach is a unique tribute to the ‘Veers’ who sacrificed their life for our country.
The enthralling beauty of the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” theme was portrayed through mesmerizing sand art created by renowned Sand Artist Sudarsan Pattnaik. This captivating display adorns the sands of Blue Flag Beach at Hotel Mayfair in Puri.
