Union Education Minister visits various temples and Puja Mandaps in Sambalpur on Dussehra

BHUBANESWAR: On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan visited various temples, Shaktipeethas and Durga Puja Mandap in Sambalpur. He also participated in the Ravanpodi program organized on the occasion of Dussehra.

Shri Pradhan Shri Pradhan had darshan of Goddess Maa Samaleswari, the presiding deity of Sambalpur. Apart from this, he also sought blessings of Maa Sukkali Shakti Peetha at Tempargarh, Banadurga Temple at Gopalpali and Ghanteshwari Temple at Bagavira. From morning till evening, he visited various Durga Puja Mandap and had darshan and offered prayers. He attended separate Ravan Tharis programmes organized at Dalaipada, Rimed and Ainthapali.

On this occasion, he said that Maa Durga is a symbol of power and Durga Puja is not just a festival but a symbol of our cultural heritage. Divine power over demonic power; victory of religion over injustice and victory of truth over falsehood. The attractive toran built with the cooperation of citizens and the efforts of the Puja Committee in Durga Puja has been very beautiful. On Vijayadashami, he called for the “Vocal for Local” challenge of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be taken as a resolution and suggested buying indigenous products and strengthening the local economy. Shri Pradhan wished the well-being of the world with the blessings of Lord Shri Ram, Maa Durga and Maa Samlai.
