Union Education Minister launches Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025, to ignite Innovation among school students across the country and attends other programs.

BHUBANESWAR/NEW DELHI: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday launched the ‘Viksit Bharat Buildathon – 2025’ in New Delhi with an aim to promote innovation among school students across the country. Apart from this, Shri Pradhan also addressed the ‘India’s Innovation
He also attended the closing ceremony of the TRAI Services Academy Technology Symposium, which launched a NITI Aayog report on travel.

Launched under the auspices of the Union Minister, the ‘Developed India Buildathon – 2025’ is being organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog and AICTE. Shri Pradhan also launched the jingle and logo of the Developed India Buildathon. He said that a big school hackathon called Developed India Buildathon has been started. Its main objective is to enhance the capacity of students to develop new ideas and products. In this, students will work on four themes namely ‘Vocal for Local’, ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, ‘Swadeshi’, and ‘Samrudhi’. The program will promote new ideas in the country and prepare the youth to play a leading role in building a better, developed, and self-reliant India.

There will be a window for students to register on the developed Bharat Buildathon portal ( https://vbb.mic.gov.in/ ) from September 23 to October 6. While other activities are scheduled on different dates, the Buildathon program will begin from October 13. The last phase will be held in January 2026 and the results will be declared and the top 1000 winners will be felicitated.

In a separate event, Shri Pradhan released a report of the NITI Aayog on India’s innovation journey in the presence of Union Minister for Science, Technology and Earth Sciences Dr. Jitendra Singh and NITI Aayog Member Dr. VK Saraswat. The title of the report is “Pathways to Progress – Analysis and Insights into India’s Innovation Story”. He said that this is not just a report but a mirror of India’s growth. A roadmap of how we will use innovation to achieve the vision of a prosperous and developed India by 2047. Innovation has been given priority in the last decade due to the constant encouragement of Prime Minister Modi. He said that the start-up revolution has begun in the country due to favourable policies and the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of our youth.

Shri Pradhan, on the other hand, joined Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth at the valedictory function of the Tri-Services Academy Technology Symposium. He said that our Armed Forces have immense faith in our educational institutions and students. With AI, drones and precision weapons as the main enablers of modern warfare, the partnership between our Armed Forces and educational institutions has become even more essential. Operation Sindhur; is a powerful example of how research, innovation and educational strength can contribute to decisive victory on the battlefield. The Ministry of Education will strengthen the hands of our soldiers by collaborating with our educational institutions, students, start-ups. He said that we will do our best to expand the capabilities and reach of our Armed Forces.
