SAMBALPUR: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has joined the “Let’s Go to School” awareness walk, a statewide campaign organized in Sambalpur to bring children who have dropped out of school, are not enrolled in school at all, and are out of school, into the mainstream of education.
Speaking at a special programme organised on the occasion, Shri Pradhan said, the main objective of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary National Education Policy is to bring every child of the country to school and provide them with education in their mother tongue. Our government is also keen on reducing drop-outs, increasing school enrolment, developing school infrastructure and increasing literacy rate. The Ministry of Education’s flagship initiative – Nav Bharat Literacy Programme – 2025 – has also taken steps to make illiterate people above the age of 15 years literate.
Similarly, the number of students going to school in Sambalpur is much better than other districts. Currently, about 3000 children in Sambalpur district are out of school in various categories. The campaign “Let’s go to school” is a commendable step of the state government to connect them with school education and skills. The main objective of our government is to connect everyone to ‘Developed Odisha’ and ‘Developed India’. This is not just a matter of rhetoric or news, but for this, the sections older than the students should fulfill their responsibility. Only by educating students, making illiterate people literate, promoting Vocal for Local and using indigenous materials, our country will become better and stronger in terms of education and society. The minister advised to create an atmosphere of ‘Let’s go to school’, to study, and said that the dream of a developed India will be fulfilled only under the leadership of today’s school students.
Odisha Government’s Panchayati Raj Minister Ravi Naik was a prominent participant in this walk, while school students, teachers, guardians, education officers, and members of the management committee participated.
