BURLA/BHUBANESWAR:A doctor’s smile and reassurance are what truly heal a patient, said Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan while attending a special program to inaugurate state-of-the-art facilities in Burla, Bhimsar on Saturday.
Shri Pradhan today inaugurated the first 3 Tesla MRI room at Bhimsar and inaugurated the 80-bed Special Neonatal Care Unit (NNCU) building. He said, MRI machines will facilitate very detailed examination of patients and accurate diagnosis. The Neonatal Care Unit will help in reducing infant mortality rate and providing emergency treatment to newborns. The use of all these modern technologies will bring about a qualitative change in the healthcare system. We are always committed to providing quality healthcare to the general public.
Attending the cultural mega event Lumivox-2025 organized at Bhimsar, Shri Pradhan said, Lumivox is a unique confluence of knowledge, service and culture. Bhimsar is the center of treatment for the poor. In today’s era, modern machines are diagnosing the disease accurately, but it is the smile and reassurance of a doctor that truly cures the patient. Our aim is not only to treat the disease after it occurs, but also to prevent the disease. Only when doctors are empowered, the society will be empowered.
Shri Pradhan thanked the state government for announcing a special package of about Rs 1600 crore for the overall development of Bhimsar and said that soon a new governance model, recruitment policy, examination policy will be implemented here through autonomous means. Soon the problems of nursing girls’ student accommodation, paramedical staff and other employees will be solved and the new recruitment process will be expedited. Shri Pradhan opined that the students who pass out of Bhimsar will take the lead in global medical practice with the vision of a developed Odisha and a developed India.
