Union Education Minister distributes PMAY (Urban) work orders & different scheme’s benefits to beneficiaries of Sambalpur Municipal Corporation area

SAMBALPUR/BHUBANESWAR:Our goal is to provide a safe and dignified life to the poor, said Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan while participating in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) Karyadesh and various scheme benefits distribution program to the beneficiaries of Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation area today.

Shri Pradhan said that the goal of the double engine government is to provide government facilities to the lower classes of society. Today, Sambalpur Municipal Corporation has issued work orders for the construction of 855 houses worth Rs. 2.5 crore for the financial year 2025-26. This step will help poor families live a safe and dignified life. Similarly, our upscale shops are an integral part of the economy of our city. So far, 5,478 people in Sambalpur city have received the first installment, 1,955 people have received the second installment and 423 people have received the third installment. Today, 10 beneficiaries have been provided loan assistance of up to Rs. 50,000 without collateral under this scheme. 32 beneficiaries have been included in the Madhubabu Pension Scheme. 34 new beneficiaries are being provided with ration cards. This is not just help, it is an effort to increase the capacity of the beneficiaries. In addition, the foundation stone for 30 different development projects at a cost of about Rs. 12.63 crore has been laid. This will make the future of Sambalpur even brighter.

Shri Pradhan further said that Sambalpur Municipal Corporation is continuously working for beautification, cleanliness and increasing civic amenities of the city. Starting from clean drinking water to improved drainage system, roads, railways, ancillary infrastructure, everything is changing. Work on 24-hour drinking water project at a cost of Rs. 450 crore has started in Sambalpur. Tender work for the riverfront development project worth Rs. 160 crore will be completed soon. Tender has been floated for the construction of new Ayodhya Sagar at a cost of Rs. 550 crore.

The Modi government has made arrangements to run 100 electric buses here. Work on a self-sufficient project worth Rs 300 crore, a drainage project worth Rs 200 crore is underway and some are about to start. There is an idea to build a big housing complex under the affordable housing project in Pardhiapali. The government has given about Rs 100 crore for the development of Hirakud. Similarly, apart from the construction of a ring road in the city at a cost of Rs 1300 crore, work is being done on the development of the airport, railway sector and related infrastructure. We have to work together to make Sambalpur a clean and beautiful city.
