BHUBANESWAR:The biggest problem in the world today is competent leadership. The one who can take the right decision at the right time is the real leader. Therefore, creating competent leaders based on Indian values should be the goal of all of us, said Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan while inaugurating the ‘School of Global Leadership’ established by India Foundation and Best Innovation University in New Delhi on Tuesday.
He said that the launch of such an institution at an important juncture, when the ‘Developed India Institute Bill’, established on the basis of Indianness, has been introduced in the Lok Sabha, is a welcome step. On the occasion of this launch, Union Minister Shri Pradhan said that the Prime Minister’s original vision is to globalize Indian education, provide multifaceted education and make education accessible. To realize this vision, the National Education Policy-2020 has been implemented. Our main goal is to create capable global citizens based on the values of India.
Emphasizing on leadership, he gave the example of the historic Konark Sun Temple. He said that when there were no institutions like NIT or IIT, the people of that time built it, which is a shining proof of India’s scientific background. Although 1200 craftsmen were involved in its construction, the son of Odia architect Bishu Maharana, Dharmapada, was the one who finished the temple. This is where the true reflection of leadership challenges and solutions can be seen.
The Union Minister further said that leadership is the core of Indian civilization. We believe in ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and the whole world is one family and we think for the welfare of the entire world. Such values can be possible only in India. Finally, he expressed the hope that through this ‘School of Global Leadership’, India will give a positive direction to the world and play an important role in creating new global leaders in the coming days.
