NEW DELHI: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is on a two-day visit to the UAE from September 10-11, with a view to strengthening bilateral cooperation in education between India and the UAE and consolidating the strategic partnership for educational excellence and innovation ecosystem.

During his visit, Shri Pradhan will interact with key UAE leaders, ministers, policymakers, academicians and representatives of Indian and UAE institutions with a view to further enhancing partnership in education, innovation and knowledge exchange. On the first day of his visit, Shri Pradhan will hold talks with Sara Musallam, Chairperson, Department of Education and Knowledge (DEK), Abu Dhabi. He will visit IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi campus and inaugurate the Atal Incubation Centre (the first foreign centre) there, as well as launch the PhD and B.Tech programmes. On this occasion, Shri Pradhan is scheduled to interact with students and faculty of the campus. During his visit, Shri Pradhan will visit the Baaps Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi and attend the first anniversary of Symbiosis University, Dubai Campus.

Similarly, on the last day of the visit, he will be present at the inauguration of the Dubai campus of IIM Ahmedabad along with UAE Minister of Higher Education Dr. Abdul Rehman Al Awar. Both the ministers will hold detailed discussions on the ongoing bilateral cooperation in the field of education between the two countries. He will also attend a roundtable conference of Indian higher education institutions in the UAE. Apart from this, he will plant a tree at the Consulate General in New Delhi as part of the ‘Ek Peed Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. He will interact with the principals of CBSE schools on the occasion of Teachers’ Day and launch the Atal Tinkering Lab in Indian schools in the UAE. Finally, he is scheduled to interact with the Indian diaspora living in Dubai and return home.
