CHENNAI: The ‘Think India South Path Summit – 2025’ will develop new ideas to address India’s challenges and will empower our youth as catalysts for global prosperity, said Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan while addressing the ‘Think India South Path Summit – 2025’ organized at IIT Madras in Chennai on Sunday.
Shri Pradhan, who is on a three-day visit to Tamil Nadu, today attended the function and highlighted the vision of the National Education Policy 2020. He said that the National Education Policy is an implementation of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. It paves the way for a developed India. It needs to be implemented properly to ensure global welfare. He added that we need to take more responsibility towards fulfilling educational goals and national priorities by making the most of the opportunities. The country’s premier think tanks like Think India need to maintain their global dominance. He suggested that the challenges be faced to develop new models and tools to meet India’s global responsibilities.
During the visit, Shri Pradhan interacted with young innovators and entrepreneurs who have received incubation support at IIT Madras Research Park. He met students who have cleared the JEE exam and are studying in the arts at IIT Madras. The Union Minister interacted with students of Tamil Nadu government schools studying in the institution under the ‘IITM for All’ programme. He visited the India Centre for Lab Grown Diamonds, Technology Development Centre. He said that IIT Madras has taken a leading role in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in India. He said that the institution’s contribution in shaping the future of children, especially those from economically backward backgrounds, is unparalleled.
Apart from this, Shri Pradhan paid floral tributes to the statue of Chellamma Bharati, wife of great poet Subramaniam Bharati, at Kadayam village during his visit to Tamil Nadu from September 19 to 21. He visited various institutions of Zoho Corporation in Tenkasi and met the students. He visited Zoho School of Learning, Zoho-run mechatronics start-up Karuvi, Kaliyibani Kaluvi Maiyam School, Tharuvai Campus and interacted with the students. He said that Zoho Campus encourages our youth to engage in lifelong learning. It gives more importance to skills and abilities than degrees. It empowers the helpless and rural students. The school ignites the flame of education for students from poor and disadvantaged backgrounds.
