BHUBANESWAR:Bringing the number of pending cases to zero through mediation and reducing the number of pending cases should be the main goal of the Indian judicial system, said Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan while participating in the inauguration ceremony of the second National Mediation Workshop held in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
Highlighting the importance of mediation, he said that in many places, civilized and conscious people resolve disputes through mediation. Steps like mediation in the Indian judicial system are making social life easier. Explaining the importance of the National Education Policy in the field of education, Shri Pradhan said that the National Education Policy gives priority to multilingual education and teaching in mother tongue. Similarly, the Indian judicial system is working towards giving more importance to Indian languages in various states, which is commendable.He said that mediation is not just a legal process, it is a thought process and part of daily life. The use of new technology and online media started during the Corona pandemic. Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is speaking in regional languages through technology and artificial intelligence in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program. Shri Pradhan opined that some such new reforms need to be brought in the Indian judicial system and society.
