BHUBANESWAR:Under the leadership of the eminent Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Union Budget for the financial year 2026-2027 presented by Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman has given importance to all sectors like farmers, women, youth, salaried, middle class, business, MSME, healthcare, employment, education, defense. It has lit up new hopes of development in every corner of the country.

India has now become the fourth largest economy in the world and is rapidly moving towards becoming the third largest economy. Many groundbreaking initiatives and new schemes have been approved in this budget to achieve the goal of developed India. Starting from Ayurveda, AI technology has been given importance in the budget. In the last 12 years, due to the visionary policies of Hon’ble Modi ji, there was instability all over the world, while India’s growth has been increasing. State President Shri Manmohan Samal said that this will be a great roadmap to build a developed India by 2047 and will be able to fulfill the expectations of all sections of the society.

Shri Samal said that in the current budget, the expenditure on infrastructure has crossed Rs 12 lakh crore, while the expenditure on social sectors has increased. Not a single scheme that was running earlier has been stopped. In the last 12 years, due to the important decisions of Prime Minister Modiji’s government, the Indian economy has grown continuously with stable growth and low inflation. The government has adopted comprehensive economic reforms to create employment, increase productivity and accelerate growth. The budget has made various goods cheaper and income tax slabs unchanged, which has reassured the common man.
Shri Samal said that priority has been given to build a developed Odisha. In the next five years, 20 new waterways will be built in the National Waterways Plan, starting from Odisha. A national waterway will be built in Odisha to connect mineral-rich Talcher and Angul, Kalinganagar with Paradip port, which will bring a revolutionary change in the industrial sector of Odisha in the coming days. He announced the construction of a rare mineral corridor in Odisha. This will increase production and create more employment opportunities in the state. Turtle nesting sites in the state will improve.
This will promote environmental conservation and eco-tourism. The establishment of a National Institute of Design in Eastern India will give a boost to the growth of the state. Providing special assistance for coconut and cashew cultivation in coastal areas is good news for the farmers of Odisha. Paying special attention to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities in the budget has created opportunities for funding for seven major cities in Odisha.
Shri Samal said that this budget will lay the foundation for the all-round development of the country and the state and will lead to overall development. He congratulated the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman and thanked them on behalf of the people of the state.
State Vice President Dr. Yatin Mohanty, State General Secretary Shri Biranchi Narayan Tripathi, State General Secretary Smt. Purnima Priyadarsani Nayak, State Media Coordinator Shri Sujit Kumar Das and State Spokesperson Shri Anil Biswal were prominently present at this press conference.
