BHUBANESWAR: Twelve international students of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) here received their degrees at a special graduation ceremony held for them on Saturday.
The students belonging to six different countries had enrolled for varied courses including B.Tech, M.Tech, BBA, MBA and BBA LLB. Five students from Uganda, three from Nepal and one each from Bhutan, Lesotho, Burundi and Somalia received their certificates.
This is the second batch of foreign students who have graduated from the university.SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda presented the degrees while wishing the students a bright career.
Prof. Nanda told the graduates that SOA had provided them a platform for their education as well as holistic development. “You are graduating from the 14th best university of the country which had been placed in 24th overall position in the latest National Institutional Ranking Framework rankings,” he said.
“You should be proud of your alma mater and be its brand ambassador when you go back to your own country,” Prof. Nanda said.
Two students from Uganda, Mr. Murungi John, who did his M.Tech in structural engineering and Ms. Mawombe Shallon, who pursued B.Tech in civil engineering in the university responded with their acceptance speeches.

Sharma, Director, University Outreach Program were present.
