BHUBANESWAR: The IAS and IPS officers working in Odisha and those who were enjoyed unwarranted and unnecessary patronage from last Naveen Patnaik led BJD Government and Government’s second in command , VK Pandian, now one after another facing ire of BJP Government in the State led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for their misdeeds.
First action came against VK Pandian’s man Friday G Mathivathanan, who was Additional Chief Secretary, Housing and Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs Department, and transferred as Director General, Training Coordination, Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, Bhubaneswar.
Second came VK Pandian’s close aid, 2005 batch IAS R. Vineel Krishna, who was Sports Secretary and Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, shifted and posted as Commissioner, Land Records & Settlement.
Third case was , 1996 batch IAS Officer Vishal Kumar Dev, who was Principal Secretary, Finance with additional charge of Chairman, GRIDCO and Principal Secretary, E & IT Department was appointed as Principal Secretary, E & IT Department. He is allowed to remain in additional charge of Chairman, OFDC.
G Mathivathanan, R. Vineel Krishna and Vishal Kumar Dev were considered to be close to VK Pandian and played a key role in 5T manipulations.
Take the case of 3 IPS officers who worked like BJD leaders and now facing Saffron ire in Odisha. These IPS officers were DS Kutey, Ashish Singh and Ravi Kant , all three posted now as OSD Home.
The State Government has revoked the suspension of senior IPS Officer DS Kutey and posted him as OSD, Home Department while disciplinary proceedings will continue against DS Kutey.
Ravi Kant, an IPS Officer of 1998 batch, removed from the post of Resident Commissioner, New Delhi and posted as Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Home Department with immediate effect. Earlier Ashish Singh shifted from IGP CM Security and posted as OSD Home. Singh even taken fake medical leave to help BJD during elections. A Medical board at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar , had found the IPS officer fit and fine.
Kutey , Singh and Kant were close aids of VK Pandian and were calling shots in New Delhi and in Bhubaneswar and were frequently interfering into BJD’s state of affairs and involved in ticket distribution and fund collection. Kutey and Singh also faced the wrath of Election Commission of India following a complaint by Odisha BJP during the last General elections. Several more Pro BJD IAS and IPS officers likely to face the same fate soon, sources said.
