JAJPUR/BHUBANESWAR:  To maintain law and order in Jajpur, police imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) in the Jajpur police station Jajpur Sadar PS area. This decision comes after tensions rose following the attack on Dharmasala MLA Sri Himanshu Sahoo, disputes related to Biraja Haat, and the arrest of Bhaba Prakash Das, brother of BJD leader Pranab Prakash Das.

Keeping in view the threat perception to the MLA, Dharmasala,his  security detail has been upgraded.

A total of 16  cases have been registered so far and 19 persons have been arrested and forwarded to the court of law.

To ease tensions, a flag march was conducted in Jajpur city, led by including incharge DIG Central Range DIG Satyajit Naik, Jajpur District Collector P Anvesha Reddy, and Superintendent of Police (SP) Yashpratap Shrimal. Police appeal to the citizens to maintain peace and vigilance.

Any person irrespective of Political affiliation,Religion,Caste or creed who tries to disturb the law and order in the district will be dealt with sternly as per the law.

To ensure public order, 40 platoons of police have been deployed across the district. District Administration aims to resolve disputes amicably, particularly those related to Biraja Haat, to prevent disturbances and ensure the smooth implementation of the Maa  Biraja temple Project.
