BHUBANESWAR: To ensure accountability and transparency, Commissioner of Police Sri Dev Datta Singh has directed all police station reception desk in charges to wear body cameras .
This will monitor the behavior of police with visitors and will bring accountability. Police personnel have been sensitised to be polite, sympatheteic and to act according to law their dealings. This initiative will enable police to record behavior by some visitors which are not appropriate.
Body cameras will deliver real-time alerts to the control room, improving our response. The audio visual recordings will be preserved for atleast one month. We are in the process of upgrading the existing body cameras to make them state of the art.
