BHUBANESWAR/BALANGIR/BHAWANIPATNA: With Leader of Opposition, Pradipta Naik shooting letters to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik demanding resignation of State Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra, the Saffron Party also met Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal demanding a CBI probe into the murder case of teacher Mamit Meher. BJP delegation led by State President Samir Mohanty called on Governor Prof Lal and urged his intervention.
Meanwhile, Police may likely to take Sunshine English Medium School at Mahaling in Kalahandi district, managing committee, president Govinda Sahu, on remand.Sahu , who was apprehended from a sugarcane field and later confessed to have killed lady teacher Mamita Meher, has been forwarded to SDJM court in Bangomunda in Balangir.
The police are likely to seek Sahu’s custodial remand to conduct his interrogation for further investigation into the matter. Sahu has confessed during questioning by police that he killed the woman and buried her body. Sahu and Mamita went to Bhawanipatna in his car on October 8. While returning, Sahu murdered Mamita inside the vehicle by strangling her to death. As the woman desperately tried to save herself and escape, the back seat of the car got torn,
Earlier, Mamita’s brother, Bunty Meher had lodged an FIR accusing Sahu’s direct involvement in the missing of his sister. Mamita Meher (24) of Jharni village under Turekela block of Bolangir district, who was working as a teacher at the Sunshine English Medium School at Mahaling in Kalahandi district, had been missing since October 8. Her body was on Tueday exhumed from an under-construction stadium site of Sunshine English Medium School at Mahaling in Kalahandi district.
Family members of the deceased have alleged that a sex racket was running at the Sunshine English Medium School at Mahaling in Kalahandi district, where she was working as a teacher. They have further alleged the involvement of Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra in the sex racket during his stay at the school.
Leader of Opposition Pradipta Kumar Naik has written to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in this regard demanding CBI investigation into the incident and resignation of the minister on moral grounds. The minister himself is in the charge of Home affairs and it will hamper the investigation if he continues his office, said Naik.
