CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR: The claim of Varsha Priyadarshini, the estranged wife of BJD Lok Sabha MP from Kendrapara, Anubhav Mohanty, that her father-in-laws house knowingly disconnecting electricity connection to her room to harass her, has been exposed after the SDO Electrical, Sishubhawan Sub Division Cuttack, refuted such allegations after proper ground verification.
The Office of SDO Electrical of TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited, a Tata Power and Odisha Government joint venture in a letter bearing no 112 dated April 23, to Kendrapara BJD Lok Sabha MP Anubhav Mohanty, said, as per telephonic discussion with you dated 17.03-21 at about 11 pm and intimated me regarding disconnection or interruption of power supply to your father’s house. I had immediately sent the duty line staff of Town Hall Electrical section to verify the same. “After verifying from the premises they replied within 20 minutes that “there was no interruption of power supply and supply was properly available to the premises. Hence after getting this information from the line staff, i again intimated you at about 11.21 pm on the same day regarding availability of power supply to your father’s house,” SDO Electrical, Sishubhawan Sub Division Cuttack, added.
Few months back in March this year, in the Lok Sabha, MP Mohanty was speaking spoke about wrongful prosecutions & its painful consequences in India. Immediately after that, he was on news headlines. Not because of the issue I raised but beause of someone’s fake allegations against him and his family.
“An FIR (as per media) was lodged against me & my family for disconnecting electricity to our ancestral home. I was deeply pained to know about this new fake allegation. To verify, I called the concerned Govt. Official.I wrote him & asked 4 a written clarifications to my queries 4 official records. Now I have an official reply to my letter which clearly says that there were no electrical disruptions in the house & hence, she had filed a false FIR against me & family! Media is the 4th pillar of democracy. Present pandemic has united all of us to fight against the unseen virus. Let us spread some positivity, happiness & restrict fake people from ruining honesty & truth for their own hidden, dirty, political agendas,” MP Mohanty wrote.
