ROURKELA/BHUBANESWAR: Locals in a public hearing at Kensara village under Lahunipara Tehsil of Sundargarh district, have strongly backed Rungta Mines Limited’s mining work at Jhumka Pathiriposhi Iron Ore Block.
About 400 stakeholders from nearby areas gave their consent in favour of the project.The project aims production of 3.35-MTPA iron ore over an area of 158.509 hectares.
ADM Shiv Shankar Toppo presided over the public hearing. SPCB Regional Officer Dr Binod Bihari Das was present.
Company officials committed initiatives in environment, socioeconomic and socio-cultural development of the area and requested the stakeholders to extend their support for the project.
It may be noted here that Jumka Pathiriposhi Pahar Iron Ore Block was bagged by Jharkhand’s Chaibasa Headquarters’ Rungta Mines Limited, which had submitted highest financial bid of 86% for the said block and finally won it in auction at a premium of 110.15 Percent.
