SUM Hospital Organises CME on Salivary Gland Tumours

BHUBANESWAR:   A ‘Continuing Medical Education’ program on the subject ‘Diagnostic Approach to Salivary Gland Tumours’ was held at the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital here attracting around 200 participants.

The program, organised by the Pathology department of the hospital, was inaugurated by Prof. Ashok Kumar Mahapatra, Vice-Chancellor of SOA. It was graced by Dr. Asawari Patil, Head and Neck Pathologist of Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, Dr. Debasish Gocchayat, Additional Professor at JIPMER, Puducherry and Dr. Pradyumna Sahu, Oncosurgeon at IMS and SUM Hospital were the resource persons.

Prof. (Dr.) Sanghamitra Mishra, Dean of IMS and SUM Hospital, Prof. (Dr.) Pusparaj Samantasinhar, Medical Superintendent and Dr. Debahuti Mohapatra, Head of Department of the Pathology department of the hospital also addressed the program.

A quiz program hogged the spotlight during the event with 14 participants from seven different medical colleges participating. Dr. Pritinanda Mishra was the quiz master.

  Dr. Nivedita Sahu, Organising Secretary of the CME, and Dr. Priyadarshini Dehuri, Co-Organising Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks.
