BHUBANESWAR: Sulabh International led by Bhindeshwar Pathak seems not in mood to pay any heads to the much talked about Swacha Bharat Mission launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sulabh International units working in Odisha have crossed all limits if anyone visits the toilets maintained and run by the organisation across the State. In Railway Stations, Bus Stops, Market Complexes, Public Community Halls, situation was so griming that commuters and passengers preferring not use the toilets due to improper maintenance.
“Water supply in many sanitary toilets maintained by Sulabha International were either disconnected or damaged while cleaness drive is far a cry in Odisha,” added an activist in Bhubaneswar.
“But, since there is no water many toilets, only some of them come here, after getting water on their own. Also, the doors of the toilets are broken, which have not been repaired despite repeated complaints to the cleaner who comes once a fortnight,” added another person in Cuttack.Walls and windows were broken in various wash rooms, he added.
80% of the total employees and officials working for Sulabh International were either from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar while manual labour was from Odisha.
Sulabh International earning huge profits from its toilet services in Odisha and using it in elsewhere.
Interestingly, Pathak is a leading figure in PM’s Swachata Mission but his organisation working otherwise in Odisha.
The toilets general run and maintained by Sulav International is belong standard while most of the funds and profits have been siphoned off by Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh origin officials working in Odisha.
