BHUBANESWAR:Union Education Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan held telephonic discussions with CMD of Oil India Limited, Sambalpur District Magistrate and Commissioner of Sambalpur Municipal Corporation from New Delhi regarding the progress of the Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) Plant project to be constructed in Sambalpur in collaboration with Oil India.
This plant will be set up to strengthen waste management in Sambalpur city and contribute to the goal of clean energy generation. The plant will process 200 tonnes of organic waste daily and produce about 9 tonnes of compressed biogas.
This is a successful implementation of the ‘waste to wealth’ challenge of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This initiative will not only keep the environment clean but will also meet the energy needs of the country including Odisha and strengthen the local economy and create new jobs. The discussions focused on accelerating the implementation of the project.
