BHUBANESWAR: On the basis of reliable information, a team of STF conducted raid on Wednesday afternoon on Rayagada – Koraput NH-326 near Siriguda Swargadham Chhaka of Rayagada Town, in Rayagada regarding dealing/possession of wild life products by wildlife criminals, as a result of one wildlife criminal namely Dambrudhar Majhi S/o. Hati Majhi of Naktiguda, Hundibora (Hundibar) PS. Tikiri in Rayagada was apprehended.
During search three numbers Leopard Skin and other incriminating materials were recovered from his possession. The accused person could not produce any authority in support of possession of such Leopard Skins,for which he has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court of SDJM,Rayagada Dist. Rayagada.
In this connection STF PS Case No.12 dated 24.05.2023U/s 379/411/120(B) IPC r/w. Sec.51 of Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 wasregistered. The skin will be send to Director WII, Derhadun for biological examination. Investigation is going on.
