BHUBANESWAR: The STF of Odisha Police Crime Branch, have arrested Bipin Nayak son of late Bishikeshan Nayak of Pangali under Dagingibadi police limits of Khandhmal district and recovered Leopard Skin and other incriminating materials from his possession
The STF said, on the basis of reliable information, a team of STF conducted raid with the help of Daringbadi Forest Officials on 9.04.2022 night on the public road of village Daberi under Daringibadi of Kandhamal regarding dealing/possession of wildlife products by wildlife criminals, as a result of which one wildlife criminal namely Bipin Nayak was apprehended.
During search one Leopard Skin and other incriminating materials wererecovered from his possession. The accused person could not produce anyauthority in support of possession of possession of such Leopard Skin, for whichhe has been detained and handed over to Daringbadi Forest Officials for necessary legal action at their end.
Enquiry is going on.Special drive against the wildlife criminals/poachers is continuing. Till dateSTF has seized as many as 27 Nos. of leopard skin, 15 Nos. of elephant task, 7 Nos.of deer skins, 12 Nos. of live pangolin, 23.5kg of pangolin scales, 2 Nos. of leopard teeth, 29 Nos. of leopard claws, 46 Nos. of live wild parrot with arrest of 64 Nos.of wildlife criminals, STF said.
