BHUBANESWAR : On Friday on the decision of Drug Disposal Committee led by SP, STF, BBSR, Deputy Collector, O/o ADM, Bhubaneswar, Superintendent of Excise, Bhubaneswar, DSP, STF in presence of Scientific Officers of State Forensic Science laboratory and Member of State Pollution Board disposed/destructed bulk quantity of contraband Brown Sugar i.e. 05 Kg400 gram in 03 cases and 115 Kg Ganja in 01 Case, which were seized from the possession of accused persons, at a designated incinerator i.e. Sani Clean Pvt Ltd Tangiapada, Khordha following all due procedure.
The seized contraband Brown Sugar and Ganja were first authenticated/ certificated by concernedcourt and handed over to Drug disposal committee for the disposal/destruction.Till date STF has destructed/disposed of more than 62 kg brown sugar in51 cases and 145 Qtls 84 kg Ganja in 29 cases including today’s destruction.
With this, all the seized drugs has been destructed/ disposed of in STF cases.(except in one case in which Chemical examination report has not been received from state forensic Science Laboratory)Similarly, Odisha Police has disposed/ destructed more than 170 Tons (1702Qtls) Ganja and more than 67 kg Brown Sugar till date. Honorable High Court Of Odisha has appreciated the efforts of Odisha Police twice on the record for the efforts taken in this regard.
