Statement of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps
We extend our condolences and congratulations on the proud martyrdom of the devout scholar, the standard-bearer of the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution, the leader of the martyrs among those awaiting the Promised One, and the rightful deputy of His Holiness Imam al-Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance), Imam Khamenei (may God’s mercy be upon him), during the blessed month of Ramadan — to the Imam of the Age (may our souls be sacrificed for him), the Muslim Ummah, the esteemed religious authorities and scholars, and the great nation of Iran.
Almighty God accepted this great striving soul and pure descendant of Lady Fatimah (peace be upon her), just as He accepted his exemplar, the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (peace be upon him), in the blessed month of Ramadan, granting him the grace of martyrdom. We have lost a great leader and sit in mourning for one who, in purity of spirit, strength of faith, wisdom in governance, courage before the arrogant powers, and striving in the path of God, was unparalleled in his era.
His martyrdom at the hands of the most wicked terrorists and executioners of humanity is itself a sign of the righteousness of this great leader and the acceptance of his sincere services.
Martyrdom in the path of Islam and great Iran is a sign of victory and nearness to the ultimate goal. With the martyrdom and return to God of Imam Khamenei (may God be pleased with him), his path and legacy will not cease; rather, they will continue with greater strength and magnificence.
This martyrdom will make our nation even more resolute in continuing the luminous path of our beloved Imam Khamenei.
The criminal and terrorist act of the malicious governments of the United States and the Zionist regime constitutes a clear violation of religious, moral, legal, and international norms. Therefore, the hand of vengeance of the Iranian nation, in imposing severe, decisive, and regret-inducing punishment upon the killers of the Imam of the Ummah, will not release them from its grasp.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic, and the great Basij popular forces will powerfully continue the path of their leader in defense of his invaluable legacy, standing firm against internal and external conspiracies and delivering a lesson-giving punishment to aggressors against the Islamic homeland.
In conclusion, we call upon all segments of society to demonstrate, through their passionate and epic presence in the arenas of national defense, the manifestations of unity and cohesion before the eyes of the world and the malicious and terrorist enemies of this nation.
