State Level Divyang Mahotsav-2025- Disabled people are children of God: It is our duty to respect them

BHUBANESWAR:The differently-abled are the children of God. It is the duty of all of us to give them an equal place in the society like others. No one should neglect this, said prominent figures who attended the State-level Divyang Mahotsav-2025.

The ‘State Level Divyang Mahotsav – 2025’ was organized in collaboration with Bring Smile, Daily Newspaper ‘Nandini’ and Department of Oriya Language, Literature and Culture, Government of Odisha at the playground of Bipin Bihari Chowdhury Deaf School in the capital today. More than 4,000 Divyang children from all over the state along with their teachers participated in this.
The chief guest of the event was students from 16 schools who lit the lamps and inaugurated the festival. Former editor of the society, printer publisher and prominent social worker Prabhas Acharya, Hitech Group Chairman Tirupati Panigrahi, social worker Karuna Kar Nayak, General Secretary of Puri Govardhan Peetha Eng Prashant Acharya, Bring Smile Chairman Sucharita Mishra said that our goal is to spread laughter, and Hemant Rath, editor of daily newspaper Nandini, contributed significantly. Addressing the Divyang children present, the guests described them as incarnations of God and opined that they can play a major role in nation building by developing the talent within them.
On this occasion, social worker Biswajit Mishra, Advocate Sumanth Swain, Kashinath Behera, Ayesha Rath, Ibrahim Alli, Prasanna Kumar Patra, Chiranjibi Das, Kalandi Behera and Gaurang Subuddhi were felicitated for their outstanding contribution in the field of social service, while four differently-abled people were given sewing machines like every year to become self-reliant. Differently-abled children from different parts of the state presented an entertaining cultural program.
The guests present at the meeting were expected to stay with the differently-abled children from the beginning to the end. Hemant Singh conducted the meeting, while Vijay Raj proposed the vote of thanks.
Monalisa Biswal, Sanjay Pradhan and Panchanan Nayak coordinated the cultural program. Ashwini Tripathi, director of the new film Motor Cycle, along with the entire cast of the film, including protagonists Abhishek Panda, Jyoti and heroine Preeti, joined in to encourage the children and distribute chocolates. Finally, the General Administrative Officer of ‘Nandini’ distributed three thousand chadors to the differently-abled children with a welcome plate.
