BHUBANESWAR:  Odisha State Crime Records Bureau has received the coveted SKOCH Governance Award for special report management system under CCTNS. The idea adopted by SCRB is innovative and it is first time in India,  for which it was awarded.  DIG HRPC Dr Satyajit Nayak received the award at a function held at Constitution Club of India in New Delhi on Saturday.

One of poor conviction is partly owing through improper investigation and partly owing through improper prosecution. To ensure quality of investigation it is essential to properly supervise & monitor of investigation of cases. With such a view SCRB has developed SR management System to ensure proper monitoring of all the cases being investigated by the Police Stations.

The online monitoring, instructions to IO and compliance system has resulted in reduce investigation time, prompt supervision of cases and effective intervention of supervising officers. This is expected to improve quality of investigation.

To further improve the investigation, SCRB has prepared CMS (Crime Management System) through which all the case records made available to all the supervising officers from SDPOs to SP, DIG & higher officers and they can effectively intervene after perusing full case records.

Instituted in 2003, SKOCH Award salutes people, projects and institutions that go the extra mile to make India a better nation. SKOCH Award winners include the mighty and the ordinary alike. They receive this Award for their extraordinary achievements in contributing to the society.
