BHUBANESWAR: Odisha SRC PK Jena on Tuesday warned some erring fishermen, those are venturing into the sea despite repeated warning of district administration and IMD. SRC Jena , said despite repeated missives and warnings, some fishermen venturing into the sea and said, action will be taken under DM Act.
“Some information being received that in spite of warning some fishermen r venturing in2the sea. Dist Admin advised 2 do public miking in the areas& advise fisherfolk not2 venture in2 sea till 12th May. If someone doesn’t listen & disobey, action under DM Act be taken against them,” SRC Jena said in a tweet.
Meanwhile, responding to SRC’s direction in view of the impending CycloneAsani, Ganjam district administration announced closure of all sea beaches in Ganjam including the Gopalpur Sea Beach for today and tomorrow. People are advised not to visit the beaches untill further public notice.
