BHUBANESWAR: The Naveen Patnaik led Odisha Government, which has been the official sponsor of Men and Women Indian National Hockey Teams (both Senior and Junior) since 2018, on Monday extended the Sponsorship to another 10 years with an investment of Rs 434.12 starting from February 1, 2023 to January 31 ,2033.
This development came following the State Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of CM Patnaik, gave its nod to the proposal by Hockey India. On behalf of Odisha Government, state owned Odisha Mining Corporation will release the funds to Hockey Indian during next 10 year till 2033.
The achievements by both the Teams at Tokyo Olympics where the Men’s Team won a bronze medal after 41 years and the Women’s Team reached the semi-finals for the first time have been significant realisations.
