BHUBANESWAR: Dr. Sitikantha Mishra, presently Advisor cum Dean of the faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, SOA Deemed to be University, has been nominated as an expert member in the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), Gwalior.
Dr. Mishra’s appointment has been made by the Union Minister of Tourism, Mr. Prahlad Singh Patel for a period of three years.The IITTM is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, with campuses at Bhubaneswar, Noida, Nellore and Goa. It offers education, training and research in sustainable management of tourism, travel and other allied sectors.
Dr. Mishra, who was the first academician to hold the post of Director, IITTM, was previously Chairman of All India Board of Hospitality and Tourism Management and a member of the Executive Committee of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). He also served as the Chairman of the Accreditation Evaluation Committee of the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and was President of the Indian Tourism and Hospitality Congress. He was a member of the Senate, Syndicate and Academic Council of Utkal University.Presently, he is a member of School Board of NEHU, IGNOU and Mizoram Central University.
