BHUBANESWAR: Two scientists from Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) here have been ranked among the top ten nationally for their research work by Research.com, a leading academic research portal, for 2023.

While Prof. Pradipta Kishore Dash, Director of Multi-disciplinary Research Centre of SOA, has been ranked sixth among the best Electronics and Electrical Engineering researchers in the country, Prof. Kulamani Parida, Director of the University’s Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, is placed seventh among the best Chemistry scientists in India.

SOA was also ranked 10th in the list of best Electronics and Electrical Engineering universities and 34th among best Chemistry universities in the country.

Prof. Dash, who is the first Vice-Chancellor of SOA, previously worked as Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at NIT, Rourkela. He is a visiting Professor at the National University of Singapore, Multimedia University, Malaysia, University of Washington, USA, University of Manitoba and University of New Brunswick, both in Canada.

He was conferred with the Biju Patnaik Award for Scientific Excellence and Samanta Chandrasekhar Award for outstanding research contribution.

Known for his work and research in the field of material chemistry, Prof. Parida has won 16 state and national level scientific awards and authored around 501 research articles. He also has 35 national scientific patents to his credit. He served as materials chemistry scientist in various departments of the Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology, Bhubaneswar, where he retired as Chief Scientist.

Both Prof. Dash and Prof. Parida also figured in the list of top two per cent scientists of the world drawn up by Stanford University.
