BHUBANESWAR: 2022 is a momentous year for India as the country is celebrating the 75th year of its independence while it is the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University here also completed 25 years of its existence with a lot of promise for the future, SOA’s Pro-Chancellor Prof. Amit Banerjee has said.
Unfurling the national flag on the occasion of 73rd Republic Day at the University office on Wednesday, Prof. Banerjee said the time had come to attune the curriculum for students with the country’s culture and traditions.
The Vice-chancellor Prof. Ashok Kumar Mahapatra said that efforts were needed to inculcate in the next generation the value of Republic Day and its deeper meaning.
Expressing concern over the difficulties experienced in class room teaching because of the pandemic over the last 2 years, he said SOA had carved a niche for itself in the realm of education and health care in the country.
SOA had been doing exemplary work in extending excellent health care to the people all through the pandemic, he said.
“We need to ensure that SOA should excel in education, health care and research in the years ahead,” Prof. Mahapatra said.
The program,conducted as per Covid guidelines, was attended, among others, by Pro Vice-chancellor Prof. P. K. Nanda, Dean, faculty of management sciences, Prof. Anup Samantaray, Dean (Students’ Welfare) Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Pramod Kumar Panda, Joint Registrar Dr. Sasanka Mishra and Director, University Outreach Program Prof. Nachieketa Sharma.
