PURI/BHUBANESWAR: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has decided to provide health insurance coverage to all servitors of the temple.
A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting chaired by SJTA Chief Administrator Dr Krishan Kumar.The New India Assurance Company Limited has been roped in for this purpose.
The approved insurance scheme would provide coverage to all servitors’ families numbering about 2,500. The scheme would provide a basic coverage of Rs 2 lakh per family and an additional cover of Rs 1 lakh for critical illnesses, the SJTA said.
Further, an additional cover of Rs 3 lakh for up to 25 persons for treatment of cancer and kidney transplantation would also be provided under the scheme, the SJTA added.
