SJTA gives final touches to arrangements for Lord Jagannatha’s Public Dardhan from Monday

BHUBANESWAR/PURI: With able senior IAS Officer, Dr Krishan Kumar at the helm of affairs, backed by two more energetic, IAS and IPS officers, read Puri Collector Samartha Verma and SP K Vishal Singh, Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration on Sunday gave final touches to its preparations for the public from Monday. SJTA is providing sheds, sanitization facilities and other necessary arrangements for the public coming for Mahaprabhu’s Darshan.

SJTA also made a request to all the devotees visiting the temple to follow the Standard Operating Procedure. “In compliance with the decision of opening Shree Jagannatha Temple, #Puri for the public from tomorrow; sheds, sanitization facilities, & other necessary arrangements are being made by @Puri_Official@SPPuri1& @SJTA_Puri for the convenience of devotees in view of COVID-19,” Shree Jagannatha Temple Office tweeted @SJTA_Puri.

After being closed since 24.04.2021 for the general public in view of Covid-19, Shree Mandir is all set to welcome devotees for darshan of Mahaprabhu from Monday. With  Standard operating procedure (SOP), the Temple had opened  on August 16, 2021.

All devotees will be allowed entry for darshan of the lords from 23.08.2021. The Temple will remain closed for public Darshan on all Saturdays & Sundays as a measure to contain the spread of Corona Virus disease and in order to sanitize the Temple premises.The Temple will also remain closed on major festive occasions in order to avoidany spike in transmission of COVID-19 on account of huge gathering that are to avoid on such festive occasions.

All devotees will enter through Singhadwar. After the Darshan, the exit will be through Uttaradwar. The above guidelines will be reviewed periodically and revised instructions will be issued from time to time to further facilitate darshan by devotees and also for management of COVID-19 pandemic.

Accordingly, the Temple will remain closed on 30.08.21 (Janmastami) & 10.09.2021(Shree Ganesh Chaturthi) during the month of August & September 2021. This matter will be reviewed again for the month of October 2021 or as required.
